Boarding Terms and conditions

Boarding

Current charges are £26 per dog per 24 hour period, no discounts for multiple dog households.

Boarding charging periods run from 08.00hrs to 08.00hrs, we allow a 90 minute overrun on the final day for pick up of your dog  up to 09.30hrs. Dogs still here after that time will be charged an extra 24 hour period.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking.

All booking requests MUST be made in writing (email or text), if made verbally or over the telephone it is the clients responsibility to confirm the request in writing within 48 hrs (email or text).

Bookings are not final until the deposit has been received by Top Dog House. We reserve the right to take later bookings for the same period if no deposit and written confirmation has been received.

 

We do not accept bitches in season for boarding or bitches due to come into season whilst they are with us.

We do not accept any dog that has any history of aggression to either dogs or humans. If a dog shows any serious aggression issues it will be video recorded as evidence and the dog will be removed to a suitable secure facility at our discretion. The owner accepts full responsibility for the balance of the boarding period still due and to pay extra costs incurred for transport and secure care of the dog.

 

 

Emergency named contact

The named person must be available throughout the boarding period.  They must be able to make decisions on your behalf with regards to the dog’s health and welfare if you are not contactable.  They should also be either able to take the dog(s) or arrange for it to be housed elsewhere if required unless another system has been jointly agreed and noted.

 

Veterinary Details – Health & Welfare

Your vet will be contacted in the first instance but if unavailable another vet will be contacted. You agree for us, with the advice of a qualified veterinary surgeon, to make any decisions regarding your dog’s health/welfare, providing it is acting in the best interest of your dog(s).

 

Medication

All medications can be administered with your written permission.  Full details of medications and doses will be required, in writing, prior to the boarding period in order for us to decide whether to board the dog.  Where possible the original medication box should be brought.

 

Vaccinations, Worming & Flea treatments

Your dog(s) must be up to date with all vaccinations; proof will be required prior to any boarding taking place. Vaccinations must include Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus and must have been completed two weeks prior to boarding.  Kennel Cough is not required.

Your dog(s) should be treated with a recognised veterinary product prior to their boarding.  If fleas are found on your dog(s) we will treat your dog(s) and the home with a veterinary approved product and costs incurred will be required to be reimbursed by you upon collection of your dog(s).

 

Health & Welfare

We reserve the right to refuse to board your dog(s) if when on arrival they are showing signs of ill health.

 

Trial night Familiarisation

Prior to your dog(s) boarding for the first time a trial stay is mandatory (minimum one over-night) at the standard rate at a jointly convenient time.

 

 

What you need to bring for your dog’s stay

Your dog(s) should be wearing a suitable collar with a tag showing your surname, address and if wished a telephone number – this is a legal requirement under the Control of Dogs Order 1992.  We will also attach a collar with our details, as stated above, for the entirety of the boarding period.

Please only bring your dog’s bedding, we have our own crates if your dog is crate trained.

You will be required to provide enough food, and any specialist treats, to last for the entire boarding period to avoid any sudden diet changes. If you use dried food please bag it in meal sized portions in loosely tied poo bags so we may re-use them. If we should have to purchase extra food a charge of £5 will be made and the receipt for the food will be retained. The client accepts responsibility for payment.

 

You agree to deliver your dog(s) in a clean, groomed condition. Any dog(s) requiring regular grooming must have pre-arranged appointments made with their groomers and a charge of £10 per visit to the groomers will be levied as well as a mileage charge for distances over 5 miles from our location.

Dogs staying with us will be brushed by us regularly.

 

You agree that should you return from holiday early and decide to collect your dog before the end of the agreed boarding period you will still be liable for the full costs – unless otherwise agreed and noted.

 

Your dog(s) must not be known to chew, scratch or destroy furniture or house fittings under normal circumstances.  Any damages caused by your dog to our home or possessions, other than reasonable wear and tear, will be required to be paid for by you directly on your return.

 

Drop off and pick up

This can be arranged, if required, for a jointly convenient time.  Where possible we will accommodate you but the welfare of all of the animals will be paramount and therefore under no circumstances do we accept drop off or pick up between the hours of 9.00pm and 7.00am. New or infrequent dogs are best to arrive at 9.30am to join the morning pack walk and to give them time to settle during the day.

 

 

 

 

Exceptional circumstances

In the event of your dog(s) becoming aggressive or uncontrollable to the point of possible injury to a person within the home we reserve the right to contact you or your emergency named contact to have the dog(s) removed, if this avenue is unsuitable then the dog will be moved to a commercial kennels for which you will liable for all charges incurred.

 

Insurance

We are covered by business public liability insurance with care custody and control extension liability to animals.

It is recommended, but not essential, that all dog owners take out their own veterinary insurance.

 

Failure to collect your dog

In the event of your dog(s) being left in our care for 1 week after the agreed collection date, and with no contact from you, or by prior agreement, and where every attempt has been made to contact you and the emergency contact number it will be taken that you are relinquishing ownership of the dog(s) and agree for us to re-home the dog(s), if practicable, by any reasonable means.

 

Exclusions

We are unable to accept any dog which is registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 or any dog hybrids registered under the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976.

We reserve the right to refuse your dog if we consider it to be unsuitable for us to board.

 

 

Owner(s) undertaking

The owner(s) confirms that they have the full power to enter into this contract with us without the consent of a third party.
